Okay, but…
What if?
Hi, I'm Jordan (JL) McVey
Willow & Wand didn’t come from a business plan—unless you count an ancient background in advertising as one.
I got my bachelor’s in advertising and worked my way into a creative director role. On paper, it was the dream—and it gave me a strong foundation in branding, storytelling, and building experiences. But over time, I realized I wanted my work to be more directly connected to people.
That led me to go back to school and earn my master’s in counseling, where I began to see how many different ways there are to show up for people, support them, and create meaningful connection.
Over the past year, I’ve spent more time slowing down and being intentional about what I build and why. I started asking different questions—not just what makes sense, but what feels aligned, sustainable, and worth creating long-term.
Willow & Wand is what came out of that.
It’s a space built around the things that consistently bring people back to themselves; books that feel meaningful, quiet moments to think, and connection that feels natural rather than forced.
But it’s also about more than just working through things. It’s about remembering how to enjoy something again. To laugh, to feel a little lighter, to feel a little younger. To get lost in a story or stay up too late reading (OR WRITING) something you love.
This is a space for people who are:
figuring things out
starting fresh (in big or small ways)
looking for something meaningful, but also approachable and real
Right now, Willow & Wand exists online—through curated reads, conversations, and growing community engagement. The long-term vision is a physical space: warm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. The kind of place people return to—not just once, but often. A place that feels like coming home to yourself.
If any part of this feels familiar, you’re already in the right place, BESTIE.
I’m Like, Really Glad You’re Here.
